I Bring Western Lifestyle Home

Image
I learned so many things when I was staying abroad especially their good lifestyle that influenced  me dramatically ever since. When the first time I touched down at the US in the winter time 2011,  I needed winter clothes, then I just realized how cheap the price of one clothe is, it only cost one dollar in Salvation Army store. Later,  I knew from my friends over there, this store collected donation stuff from society and sale it and give the money to the charity organization. People donate their stuff a lot, even though a brand new one.  This thing made me curios,  how come they donate their brand new stuff to this charity shop. I finally got the answer from the seller,  sometimes they got present from friends or relatives but they didn’t need it. They decided to put it on a charity box. As they live in a  modern society, they don't want to collect and keep many things, because the stuff make the house is full of dust and dirty,  at the same time other people who need a certain

Blood Donate Volunteer

Image
Twenty-five years ago, I started to become  a blood donor when I was still an undergraduate student in Jakarta.  I began becoming a blood donor because of one scholar’s speech, he said that Allah loves the consistent good deed from people even though it is only the smallest one (Hadits  from Shahih  Bukhori and Muslim). At that time,  so many things I did,  I was a busy guy and barely had enough leisure time. In the early morning, I would prepare and cook food for me and my brother fo a day, yup we rented the same house and lived together, anyways he is two years older than me. later,  I went to my campus until mid day. Then I taught young kids reciting The Quran in a mosque.  At night, I would do my homework or followed organization’s activities, namely HMI.  Since blood donation is only once in three months, I decided to become more consistent to donor my blood.  Moreover, a couple of days ago,  it was 80th blood donation since the first time I did it. Most of them, I did in Bandar L

Nothing special though!!  But fortunately in 2011, I got a chance to study english intensively for academic IELTS at ITB Bandung conducted by DIKTI. This English course program  just exclusively dedicated to lecturer for free. I was so exited, being serious and paying more attention to the course. I got no idea about grammar,  only got less vocabulary as well as had no confidence to speak english at all.  In the end, After four months I finished the program and got IELTS certificate with

And The story begins.   A Young and orphan, Roslidar, lived with her mom and three other siblings, she was the youngest one. My grandmother was a farmer as well as a rice seller. When Ied Mubarak came,  the tradition in her village (Bukittinggi)  all the orphan made a line and they would get donation from the rich. Mom said she would never forget that moment and reminded her children to be kind to other orphans as well. Based on her experience, I decided to open a boarding house for the orphan and students in need. At the end of the day house we call it as asrama Roslidar to remind me of my mom's story. Eventhough my mom has always had a passion for education,  she had to stop her school at 6th grade of elementary school. The reason is because she followed her oldest sister to move to Central Java.  Although she didn't have  high level education she has always encouraged her children

August 17th, will come very soon. This day is Indonesia’s Independence day, it is also a big day for me since fourteen years ago, Dian and I promised to God that we would fullfill  and complete each other in the name of husband and wife. Where should I start? Oh yeah, I would like to begin with where  my classmate introduced her to me while I was pursuing doctoral’s degree in 2008 in a city called Bandung. We had never known each other before. As a matter of fact, she is five years younger than me. Anyways, She was a midwife in a government hospital and her father was a lecturer in the same campus as my friend. We just needed three months before we decided to tie the knot. At the beginning, It had never been easy since We are from different cultures as well as islands. It takes effort and much understandings to be a part of different culcure but she had no doubt about that, She said to me that as long as her husband obeyed the rule of religion and loved her, she could sacrifice against
